About
A ride tracker that keeps your rides yours.
Riderr records your rides — distance, speed, battery, and route — and keeps the history in one place across your iPhone and Apple Watch. It started with Boosted Boards over Bluetooth and is growing to cover more of what people ride. And it's built so that privacy isn't a setting we bolted on — it's how the app is put together.

Why it exists
Made by one person who rides.
Riderr started as a way to see my own rides — how far, how fast, how much battery, and the exact route I took — without handing that story to a company that would rather sell it than keep it.
So it's built local-first from the ground up. Every ride is written to your device before anything is sent anywhere, and you decide how much ever leaves your phone. It gets better because riders tell me what's missing — the fastest way in is the contact page.

How a ride works
From your board to your history, in four steps.
01Pair your board
Riderr connects to your Boosted Board over Bluetooth and reads battery, speed, ride mode, and firmware straight from the hardware.
02Just ride
Start a session and go. Riderr logs your route, speed, and battery in real time — from your iPhone or right on your Apple Watch.
03It's already saved
Every point is written to a database on your device before anything is sent anywhere. Your phone is the source of truth, offline included.
04You choose what syncs
Keep it all local, or sign in to sync — at the privacy tier you pick, up to end-to-end encrypted backups only you can read.

Privacy, three ways
You pick exactly what leaves your phone.
Choose a privacy tier per account. Each one draws a hard line around what the server can ever see — from nothing but summaries to a full, end-to-end encrypted backup only you can open.
Heartbeat
Only presence pings and a final summary — distance, duration, speeds, battery. No GPS coordinates ever leave your phone. Your route stays entirely local.
Relative-Signed
The shape of your route uploads as relative coordinates, rotated a random amount, origin discarded — we can draw it but can't place it on a map. Stats are HMAC-signed so we can verify them without reading your route.
Encrypted Backup
The full GPS trace is encrypted on-device with AES-256-GCM under a key that lives in your iCloud Keychain. We store only ciphertext — we can't decrypt it, and switching devices restores your key automatically.
Prefer no account at all? Anonymous mode records every ride to your device only — nothing is uploaded, ever. Read the full privacy policy for the exact mechanics.
What we stand on
A handful of non-negotiables.
Local-first
The app works fully offline. The network is an option you reach for, never a requirement to record a ride.
Anonymous by default
No account needed to track. Ride completely anonymously; create an account only if you want to sync across devices.
Encryption we can't undo
At the encrypted tier the key never touches our servers. Not being able to read your data is the point, not a limitation.
An honest audit log
Any action we take on your account is recorded in a log you can see, flagged as ours. We keep it honest even when it isn't flattering.
You own your rides
Export everything, delete any ride locally and on the server, or delete your whole account — all self-service, any time.
Built by a rider
One person who actually rides, shipping steadily and taking cues from the people who ride too.
Where it's going
Boosted was the start.
The plan is to cover more of what people actually ride — more boards and rideables, richer stats and insights, and optional encrypted cloud backup for those who want it. Same principles the whole way: local-first, privacy by design, and your data staying yours. If there's something you want to see, tell me.
Give it a ride.
Track your first ride in minutes — no account required to start.
